The doctoral degree will be awarded by one of the faculties of natural sciences or engineering. An excellent degree, equivalent to a diploma or master in physics, engineering or computer science is required.

Scholarship Description: Research topics span the range from fundamental optics to applied optics and medical imaging. The school provides excellent research conditions for highly motivated post-graduate students. The programme is jointly organised by the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering IOF
