Vocational Training Council (VTC) - Scholarships and Award

Over 300 scholarships / award schemes at a total value of HK$6,000,000 are awarded to VTC outstanding students. The scholarships / award schemes include :

Alistair Harvey Foundation Scholarship Scheme

This scholarship scheme aims to provide final year full-time students of Higher Diploma courses in the disciplines of Applied Science, Construction, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or Mechanical, Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering with financial assistance to further their studies at universities in the United Kingdom. Students with excellent academic achievements; strong leadership abilities as well as active participation in extra-curricular activities and community service may apply. The scholarship provides generous support that would cover tuition fees, accommodation fees, living expenses and air fares for two academic years. Successful applicants will receive an award of up to ￡20,000 per year.

VTC Outstanding Students Award Scheme

This Scheme awards students who have excellent academic achievements, strong leadership abilities and outstanding personal qualities. Each awardee will be granted HK$10,000.

Mr. Yeung Kai-yin Memorial Scholarships

This scholarship provides financial assistance to support needy students in study visits / overseas exchange programmes; broaden their exposure and horizon; and better shape their whole person development. Each awardee will receive an award up to HK$10,000.

Outstanding Industrial Attachment Scholarships

Last year with generous donations from over 150 industrialists and employers, the Outstanding Industrial Attachment Scholarships award VTC students who achieved remarkable performance in their industrial attachments in recognition of their own learning and development. Among students who participated in attachment in 2009 / 10, around 130 were awarded the scholarships. Each awardee is granted HK$2,500.
